UAH launched their NASA Student Launch Initiative rocket on April 6th at the Army's Redstone Arsenal, AL on Test Range #1. UAH had onboard video and GPS downlink which gave spectacular video and also helped in locating the rocket. The students said that they got a "huge adrenalin rush" from the launch and "the ground actually shook when it was taking off!". UAH modified a 30' aluminum light pole for their launch rail. They did an awesome job on the whole project!

Launch Data:

Rocket weight without N2O - 70 pounds
Diameter - 6 inches
Length - 14 feet
Temperature - 64 F
Electronic recovery - dual ALTACCs
Motor - Hypertek's M1040 - 5478cc 98mm with HyEFX M grain
Altitude - 11,200 feet
