Those are both wicked good looking rockets! Bought one at LDRS for $29, what a great deal for a fiberglass kit. Got mine in the colored glass (Orange with Black fins and nosecone). Waiting for a nasty winter day to build it when I can't fly because of midwest weather but still thinking about rockets.

You guys both have the same decal - did it come with your kit or did you get it from Stickershock? I want one.

GaryT

Scott, They come with the kit.

Mine also came with the kit. Maybe yours got misplaced or left out when you substituted the orange tube?

I think thats exactly what happened. Bought my kit on Friday and saw the colored ones Saturday - they traded me. It's ok, I have never been much of a Decal guy but those 2 rockets really look cool! Making me want to start the build and fly it this weekend. Come to think of it, all of Gary's rockets look pretty good!

Here's mine, but its painted and not a colored tube. At first, I thought Bill posted a pic of mine!!!

Here it is pre decal. Guess I didn't take a pic after I finished it up.

Another nice one! OK you guys are killing me, I couldnt wait any longer - I started the build yesterday. I have a question for anyone who has worked with the colored glass: How do you finish it? It will have some scuffs on it from the external fillets anyway. Fine sand and clear coat maybe?

GaryT

Scott:
You can put almost anything on it from Armor all to shoe polish, Here is my Flying Pumpkin (http://www.rocketryforum.com/showthread.php?t=27012)with a coat of Car Wax on it.

IMO I prefer to not clear coat it, It won't yellow over time and alls thats needed is another coat of wax to make it look like new again.

So to answer your question:

Car Wax
Armor All
Shoe Polish (Clear on the Non Black parts & Black on the Black parts)
Tire Black

Well, here's mine. Just shy one more coat of Future, but pretty much there. First photo of completed rocket (duh?), the rest providing a bit more detail on the build. Electronics are redundant with a Raven2 and a Stratalogger. If you look at the aft/drogue-side BP you will see the mounted siren for the SL100. All my Aeropacks were assigned to builds and I see this rocket being my primary workhorse (as GaryT described it) for testing research motors, so I didn't want to use a Slimline and rule out some snap ring cases, thus the plate retainer. Color is "enhanced". I stated on another thread that I didn't really care for the Blueberry as to me it was more sky blue, so I used Krylon "Stained Glass" specialty paint in blue. I frosted it on the body to give it a deeper, midnight/royal hue (see contrasting NC shoulder to view original color). Finally, I do plan to kick this thing often with a number of Mach flights. Doing flutter sims you begin to have problems with the naked G10 at 0.72 Mach, so I enhanced the fins also with CF.

Been looking at this rocket. I've never had a K capable rocket... seems like a good value for the money? How did you do the dual deploy? A tether?

No doubt about it, I love the Rocketry Warehouse Formula 98. Not sure who the designer was, but for a simple 3FNC they hit the mark nicely. It's large enough to have a presence but small enough to lug and load by myself. And its a rugged and reliable performer (well so far with three flights on it).

So I am waiting for launch and I hear the back pads arm... okay... waiting for the PA... and I JUST BARELY hear... 5... 4... and I am thinking "Holy $$$t"... trying to get the camera ready... sure enough... off it goes...

Recovery was unfortunately over the crowd. :bangpan::bangpan: But was safe. The Archetype Cable Cutter again worked flawlessly and deployed the Rocketman 6' (2m) chute at 500 ft (150m). The rocket landed behind the potta potties. The perflite stratologger was beep out 4298' (1300m) :y: :surprised: Yikes. Way over my 3500' (1060m) estimate.

This was BTW my largest motor launched since my L2 J275 back in 1999
