I wish there was some way to Agree or disagree to posts. Sometime I completely agree with what people are saying, I just don't want to make a new post saying "+1" or "do what he said". Is there any way to incorperate this into the forum?

I agree, or at least I think I do. The last time I agreed to anything I got married! No-wait! That's a definite maybe. Kinda. Probably, but I'm not really sure. What was the question again?

As Luke says, we gave a very similar thing a try last year by adding some thumbs up/down buttons to each post. It's a nice idea in theory, but in practice it didn't go down too well, and it's really not something I'm wanting to try again in a hurry.

We tried that. Can you say "epic fail"?
We're not going there again in the forseeable future.

Every once in awhile I do a "+1" but usually only if I have something else I want to add...
If you don't have something else to add, why bother??
The whole "thumbs up/thumbs down" thing is patently rediculous, IMHO.
Since when does other people's OPINION affect whether something someone said is factually correct or factually incorrect??
As for advice/methods/materials choices, politics, etc... well, in that case, opinions are like buttholes-- everybody's got 'em... no need to be reminded of the fact...
I just don't see this as any real "need"... if you got something to say, say it... if not, don't...
JMHO! OL JR :)

I remember seeing the buttons before, and then they were just gone. I didn't see the trainwreck part of it. What exactly was the problem?

I just don't want to make a new post saying "+1" or "do what he said".
As my wife once said to me, "Then why do you need to post?"

If you agree with a poster and you have nothing to add to the thread, no post is warranted. Adding +1 posts just run up the post count and tacks non-value added, space consuming junk to the thread. Having a high post count does nothing to enhance your credibility, IMO. I won't mention any names here.
If you do not agree with what someone posts, then you should take the time to respond to the thread. By far the worst thing about the Internet is that people read what is written and take it on faith it is true. There are countless things on the Internet that are not true (NO, REALLY ;)), and TRF is no exception.
