Just curious.
I've seen clear fins and simulated flame fins put on scale models to provide stability to rockets that otherwise wouldn't be flyable.
Wondering how it would effect model competion if the rocket had a "ring stand"?
Basically an extension of the body tube with three or more fins extending out to a ring fin. You could even finish the ring in simulated oak or mahogany. Would make the model stable, and when you stick it on the shelf support it upright and look (at least from the side) like a real wood stand. Could even put a simulated brass label or title on it.
