JimZs has a "Sputnik Too (http://www.rocketreviews.com/sputnik-too-free-plan-1964-8931.html)" plan from Estes:

I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for.
There's a Rocksim design file for the Sputnik at:
http://www.rocketreviews.com/sputnik.html
As an alternative to the ball and sticks version of the Sputnik, Niel's Paper Models (http://www.nielspapermodels.com/sputnik.htm) offers a more-realistic Sputnik paper model (http://www.nielspapermodels.com/sputnik.htm) that you might be able to convert to a flying rocket.
Also, check out the Sputnik kit from Odd'l Rockets (http://www.rocketreviews.com/oddl-rockets---sputnik.html).
BTW, you can browse or search for online plans and instructions at http://www.rocketreviews.com/rocketry-plans.html.

Thanks for saying so!
I appreciate the feedback.
That Sputnik is a great small field or first rocket launch of the day to check the system and wind.

Andrew:
I have the old Estes Plan #15 if it's any help.
I've been flying mine on B & C6 motors with a streamer recovery ejection pod that helps the "feather weight" recovery a little saving some flattening on the top of the ball after repeated launches:)
Ps the Sputnik makes a great undercarrage for flying Ghosts and downscales great as well;)

Here are some links. One is to some basic info on building a small Sputnik. I also have a couple of photos and one video from a COSROCS Sputnik launch.
