Mfg. Description: Streaking across the galaxy, flying saucers may bring alien life forms of all sorts to our planet. Centuri's model of this frequently observed craft features sturdy pre-cut, pre-formed fiber parts, embossed surface detail, aerials that double as landing gear plus an engine block. All parts are pre-colored and no special tools are necessary - just white glue. The Flying Saucer fits any launcher and flies to surprising altitudes with a single "Super C" booster engine. It glides back to earth for a safe landing ready to fly again. (Centuri 1978 Catalog 2)

As far as I know, this is the first saucer kit. This one was built about 1980 or 81. It still flies pretty well for an old rocket. I'm surprised that no one has this one in the gallery.

That would be a splendid idea.
Hint, hint, hint...
EDIT:
I just realized that you DID put it in the gallery. I thought I was replying to another thread.
Thanks for the contribution

In my continuing effort to rebuild my original fleet, I scratchbuilt the Alien Scoutship. I used the templates at JIMZ' website, transfered the templates to Powerpoint and made some adjustments during construction for a fair fit. Used #110 cardstock to make all the parts except for a few. I used picture frame board for the three fins that hold the piano wire antennas and for the large disk. All the exterior details were cut one-by-one, all 110 pieces, from #110 cardstock also. The details I did not add were for the smaller lower transition. I used Valspar Brushed Nickel for a classic saucer theme. Decals were re-drawn and printed with my Canon inkjet printer. And finished it with one coat of Future. I think it looks cool. It came out at 2.43oz or 68.8 grams. Flight report this summer... Enjoy!!!
