6' tall 12" diameter tower in the works.

I found that there are guys that sell 1 foot lengths of 12" and 14" schedule 40 and 80 PVC Pipe. I ordered a piece of 12" diameter schedule 40. I figure I can make to 6" high rings out of it and use 1"x1" square aluminum tubing for the guides. It will have to stand on it's own instead of mounting to my tripod. I figure it will take up to 4" rockets with no problem. I don't know what it is about towers, but I find them an elegant solution to the launch guidance problem. I will try to post some pictures of the build.
