Stages: 1

Mfg. Description: BULLPUP AGM-12C AIR-to-GROUND MISSILE (USA)
The largest of the Bullpup series of missiles, the AGM-12C is also the oddest-looking member. Distinguished from the other Bullpup versions by its unusual long-chord wings, this missile was tracked visually to the target by the launching pilot with the aid of two high-intensity flares in the tail. Aiming was manual, by means of a radio command joystick in the attacking aircraft. It carried 1,000 lbs. of high explosives in the enlarged midsection. Foreign users included the Royal Navy and various NATO forces. Some Bullpups are still in service, usually in ground attack training programs.
By popular request, this former Plan-Pak rocket is now available in kit form! In 1998, we refined this missile design completely to give you a museum-quality kit in accurate 1/4.62 scale, making it a perfect display companion for our Bullpup AGM-12B on the previous page. Composite "E" or "F" motors give spectacular performance, flight after flight. (Black powder "D" motors are not recommended for this kit.) (TLP 2011 Web Ad)

Mfg. Description: BULLPUP AGM-12B AIR-to-GROUND MISSILE (USA)
This missile, like the Bullpup AGM-12C on the next page, was part of a series of missiles designed to soften up hardened ground emplacements, bunkers, and underground fortifications prior to sending in ground troops. First used by the U.S. Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps, it was later adopted by the Royal Navy as standard strike armament on the Buccaneer aircraft. The AGM-12B used high explosives, although a similar, later version, the AGM-12D, had nuclear capabilities. Used by the U.K., Denmark, Norway and Turkey, this is a prime candidate for the International Collection.
This one uses "D12" series through AeroTech "F24" series motors for liftoff, and a soft landing is ensured by its 18" diameter Mylar parachute. Even the steering fin pivots near the nose are simulated to give that extra touch of realism. It’s a lightweight, highly detailed model in 1/4.62 scale, with exceptional takeoffs and smooth performance, flight after flight. Our test model has been flown more than twenty-eight times and after only minor cosmetic repairs is still going strong! The Launch Pad’s kit version of this famous missile is easy to build, and is an attractive, detailed rocket, either in the air, or on display. Minor internal modifications for additional stability now enable the 2005 version of this kit to use the larger "F" motors. (TLP 2011 Web Ad)

This one was given to me. I think it was a TLP kit. It was a little flight weary, needed a new tail cone and paint job. My wife wanted a pink rocket for Red Glare 9 and she loves the shape of the Bull Pup, sooo..... New tailcone, a little bodywork, paint (Tamiya rattle can, love that stuff) and a custome decal. Her mom is a Breast Cancer Surviver, hence the name. Flew great on a F-24 reload.

Here is another of my TLP kits. This the the oddball....but very cool looking Bullpup AGM-12C (even though my decal says 12 "D")
This was a little tougher kit ,because of all the shrouds that had to fix exactly. All shrouds were coated with finishing epoxy ,and of course detail added.Decals are a mixed bag of trim Monokote and custom lettering ,nuts &bolts and screw heads by Mark (stickershock23.com)
This is a nice big kit and a good test of skill and ....oh yah......PATIENCE :y:

Daniel,
I was not able to make the launch on Saturday. My launch crew was not available. I would have been bummed if the BullPup Pranged. I wonder who the owner of the Bullpup is.
I will try to get to the final 2010 launch on the 20th.
Thanks

a fairly nice flying semi-scale kit. Man can it get up there in a hurry on B's or C motors. Sure wish they or I had taken the time to build in the fin tip spin tabs and/or relocate the foreward fins to a more Scale location.
Did you know the Tail cone isn't a Cone at all rather a clamshell housing that is actually oblong.
Did most of these changes on the Scale micro version. and have been meaning to build another Estes model with the changes...another of the round tu-it things LOL!

I Finally finished my first scale missile. A TLP Bullpup 12C. I learned a lot on this build and am ready for more. :) I think it turned out great.

Don't forget about PMLs Bull Puppy. I have built a couple of them, nice kits.

You are now a craftsman.....:handshake:
Absolutely great work on a tough kit ! The rest will seem much easier from now on.

Here's a photo I captured of the launch of Tom Tweit's Bull Pup at the recent ROCK launch (http://www.rocketreviews.com/june-2012-launch.html). I like how the flame is spread out over the blast deflector.

Well, since I got my Bullpup 12D finished, I think I'll revive this thread. It's a clone of the Estes sport-scale model, BT-55, 18mm MMT.
A huge thank-you to Dlazarus6660 for sending me the decals! :)

Thanks. :)
I'll sure try to get pics. Its maiden flight is scheduled for Saturday, on a C6-5. :fly:

The flight went well, even though I forgot to thread the rod through the top launch lug. :bangpan: Fortunately, it did fine with just the lower lug. A little bit of wobble on the way up, but straight enough. :)
Here's a lift-off shot. It was gone in the next frame. :eyepop:

Nice job!
Looks better than any of the Bullpups I built!

Thanks! I spent about twice as much time as I usually do sanding this one, since it was my first non-cardstock scale model. It did turn out better than I expected, but I have vowed that I will never, ever fill spirals again...

This is a "Bull Puppy" from PML that I bought from a fellow here a couple months back. It was partially started, and what was done was done well. This is the first scale kit that I haven't done something stupid to. Glad I got that out of my system, now where's that V2?

Pole Cat Aerospace 4" Bull Pup kit. This was my first kit build. The kit is very nice and easy to build. Just wish it came with a parachute like so many other kits do.
