Reporting off-topic or attacking posts.

I see that unlike Rocketry Planet, this site does not disable attacking posts. It does however disable on-topic and factual posts that the site feels are controversial. The TOS does not preclude controversial posts. Only rude and profane ones. I suggest the moderators simply need to re-read the TOS and re-enable each and every post I (and MANY others) have ever made that have been deleted or moderated. Just a suggestion from Jerry Irvine.

I hereby report a bad post as my second act after registering on TRF.

View my sig. (now)

Jerry

Bad behavior follows me around and I ask that to cease now several decades later. Please? Please? Thanks.

What?

This site has the feature of reporting bad posts - the ! in a triangle is in the upper right, next to the post number.

Jerry, I understand that you're new around here. This sort of post has already been discussed at length. The final determination is that it is neither sufficiently off topic not intended as an attack for the mods to take significant action.

Backing John up, would everyone take a look under Jerrys TRF handle, and read that to themselves? :D
Sorry, I had to.....

...a bit thin-skinned aren't we, Jerry? You were banned in the previous version and I thought it continued onto this one. So I'm wrong.

Explanation of emotes(in case you couldn't figure it out on your own):

:y: Shock and suprize at who is posting.

 How could this happen??

:pop: Kick back and wait for the drama to start(it didn't take long)

edit.; besides, there IS an /ignore function and I'd be pleased and proud to be the first on your ignore list plzplzplzplzplz

2nd edit.; hmmm, can't seem to find the /ignore function. Perhapse it does not work here now. Too bad.

I actually liked Dick's response before at the other site. http://www.rocketryplanet.com/forums/showpost.php?p=165137&postcount=10 It has the benefit of being as true as true gets.

Thanks for the offline welcomes back. I appreciate it. 01rocket@gte.net

I see some of the same folks still have a need to inform me and the public at large how much they disagree with me despite the fact that when USR motors were "improperly" decertified in 1992 I honored that, by refusing to sell to NAR or TRA members thereafter, soon relegating the business to non-consumers generally. I feel by respecting the decision I disagreed with, I was being civil. In hindsight it had the added benefit of separating my behavior from those folks who took stuff from me and began selling it.

In any case, I have been posting helpful comments to rocketry lists since, doing rocket stuff under the radar at sites where compliance is very assured and clear, and of course doing some leading edge research that has resulted in actual uptake by firms and governments, which I am very proud of.

I like rocketry. I support the idea of a national association and local clubs. I have supported them with freebies, technical assistance, fundraisers for equipment and outright donations.

I think we are three rule changes and two BOD elections from a growth spurt in rocketry. But even if that never happens, I hope the folks who are here now can make sensible rules, follow the ones they write, and for goodness sake if you have rules you break or are silly, just delete them!

Exemptions have always been better than rules anyway. Try it sometime. It is a form of a rule. :D

How about we practice some self moderation here and not bring external baggage into this forum. I know some of you have had issues with Jerry in the past in other venues. I would humbly suggest that we all leave them there and give it a fresh start here. As far as <I'M> concerned, Jerry is just like any other BAR coming to TRF fresh. I would ask that others do the same. Just as I ask Jerry to observe the conventions and standards of TRF. Let's leave the snark at the door.

This soap opera has been a lumbering slow moving vehicle ever since Al Gore invented Compuserve and r.m.r. :eyepop:

Based on replies in other threads the snark was warned about and then followed at an increased level. I have decided not to report posts because based on posted opinion here I may be throwing stones from a glass house.

I just say things people want not said.

:bangpan:

Let's have some fun guys.
