I am about to build a rocket that will be nearly 7' tall. Of course at this height, carrying it around will be inconvenient. I was wondering (if people do it) how to make a rocket "breakable" for transport but still remain structurly sound?

Thanks!

well its probably going to break apart where ever your av bay is correct? so that should break down the height shouldn't it?

ps....do i smell a build thread coming???

There won't be an av bay, low budget build. I'm building it with a friend and we are only planning on sending it 1,300' feet up. ;)

You need to get a pickup truck with an eight foot bed.

shows the plan for a 15ft superroc, the folks over at apogee solved the transportation problem.

Usually, with rockets that size, you want to make it break in the middle for deployment anyways. Otherwise, you can have problems with pressurizing the entire internal volume.

That's kinda what I was thinking, but I just wanted to be sure.

Thanks all. :)

Look at a Mean Machine, it has a twist coupler in the center. Oh yeah, don't lean it against a wall when stored. It will warp / bend.
