great list - thanks, after 10 years i've just found a rocket site in the UK that i did not know about. I'm saddened that there is not a single manufacturer based in the UK - i never thought about it before, we did use to have orbital engineering that did the fantastic VMX rocket gliders, but they've seemed to dissappear now:(

The OurPlanet link that's there is the generic site link. The one I provided above is my personal page. Please add my OurPlanet page directly below my blog (RStaff3's http://rocketdungeon.blogspot.com/), if that's OK. The generic OurPlanet page probably belongs elsewhere, but I'm not sure where. The PlanetSpace entry that's there belongs under non-rocketry items if it belongs at all.

I don't know what category you would put him in, but I didn't see Totally Tubular in there. I think TT is still pretty important to have a link to, and would sure like to see it in your list, but I don't have a link handy right now to offer.

Thanks for the list.
I just briefly went through some of the entries.
Policy is not to place someone twice if they are both manufacturers and sellers as most manufacturers are also vendors. If a link just forwards to another, then it is not listed.
Parachutes for planes doesn't cut it.
Some of the links are out of date without even clicking on them ( ie. aol).
But it is 2 days before I am going to LDRS. I am doing some new kits and I have yet to start packing for my trip on Sunday.
So I will update the list next Tuesday or Wednesday when I get back.

Paratech apparently no longer makes parachutes for model rockets, although they still list them on their home page. Entry removed.
Some of the links are out of date without even clicking on them ( ie. aol).
Rob Edmond's link has been revised.
All of the links were verified and are live. As I mentioned in the post, Retro Rocketry still has a web page, but I don't know if they are actually still in business.
But it is 2 days before I am going to LDRS. I am doing some new kits and I have yet to start packing for my trip on Sunday.
Maybe I'll see you there.

MarkII, okay. Back from LDRS and doing this list.
Exclusive so not added:
acme, dynastar, surefire
Not operating:
defyg, (actually removed from shops), model minutes, new way space, retro, rocket dynamics?, rocket in a box, shadow, shecter, trojan, launch magazine,
duplicates so not added:
leading edge, apogee peak of flight, extreme rocketry, liberty, narts,
removed ebay as too general. P&R are planes, SFSM Industries is a motor, ara press seems too general, water rockets?, FAI is too general.
BTW, were you at LDRS?

It appears that you and I have different ideas regarding what constitutes a rocketry resource. Well, OK, it's your list, so you populate it any way that you want so that it reflects your personal opinion. I guess that's why this thread is in "The Watering Hole" rather than somewhere else on the forum; it is essentially an editorial. I'm not sure why a Watering Hole piece is given the status of a Sticky, though. Doing so elevates one forum member's personal opinion above all others and gives it an Official TRF stamp.

An area where general discussions can take place, that don't necessarily fit well into other categories. This can relate to rocketry, general chat, or any other topic not prohibited by TRF rules and guidelines.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I read the definition quoted above as identifying The Watering Hole as the "general chit chat and soapbox speechifying" section of TRF. I didn't realize this at first, but in the current thread you are declaring your list of "rocketry resources" from the top of your own soapbox. That's OK with me, and I apologize for my error. I just don't understand why any one member's "soapbox speech" in the crowded saloon/cafeteria of The Watering Hole should be singled out and elevated to the status of a "Sticky," though.

Hi Angelo:
What's Up Hobbies is just shown in the ships page yet they continue to manufacturer the Polecat Aerospace product line. My suggestion would be to leave Polecat in the manufacturers area but point the URL to the polecat section of the what's up hobbies site.
The same holds true with Leading Edge. They are a shop that carries multiple vendors but also manufacture their own line of products. I would suggest duplicating their entry under both shops and manufacturers.
My rational for duplicating the entries is this:
-when you're looking for a new unique product you (or, at least, I do) tend to go to the manufacturer for the latest offerings. So, if you/I are looking for something interesting to add to the build pile then I'll cruise the manufacturers list.
-when you/I are looking for a product that is in stock the manufacturer may not be the best place to look and so that is when the shops list comes into play. If a shop carries a significantly varied selection of manufacturer's products I want to know about it so I can shop around to see who has product in stock.
I think we should reward What'sUp and LeadingEdge for bringing new and interesting products to the market by showing them in the manufacturers listing. I think we also need to keep customers aware that they offer a much broader line of products from other manufacturers.
Thanks for your consideration.
Best wishes,
Will

....My rational for duplicating the entries is this:...
the general rule, discussed with the mods, is companies do not get duplicate entries in the manufacturers/shop section.
Otherwise, almost every company would be listed twice.
