Has anyone found an igniter tester that they are very happy with? Or do you use a multimeter to do your testing?

Doug Pratt makes a nice one with clip leads. But I find that I use http://www.skylighter.com/mall/ignition.asp#GN5005 when I want a quick continuity check.

What is it you want to test, continuity or resistance? Or both? If both a VOM is you best friend.
I prefer the digital models.

Here's a simple continuity testing circuit.
1.) Push the button down and hold.
2.) If the LED glows you have continuity, if it does not ... you don't.
3.) Release the button.
If built as directed the tester is e-match safe. Change any of the parts to suit your needs.

Pretty much any altimeter will tell you if you have continuity. But I've seen ignitors that pass the continuity check but were duds, that could have been caught with a resistance check. Multimeters are incredibly cheap and should be in the toolbox of every rocketeer who uses deployment charges, if only for the resistance testing.

Great advice, Adrian. I think I'll start doing that.
